Church leaders call for truthfulness in political debate
Ten Scottish church leaders have joined together in calling for a respectful tone in the ongoing political debate - that recognises the human value in all people. As campaigning enters the final three weeks before the General Election, the leaders have urged people to think of the many issues that unite rather than divide. To read the statement click below.

Public consultations are published by the Scottish Parliament and by the Scottish Government and include the following:
  • Civil Partnership (Scotland) Bill  End date: 31 January 2020
  • The Convener of the Safeguarding Committee at the Church of Scotland gave evidence to the Scottish Parliament Education and Skills Committee on the Disclosure (Scotland) Bill on Wednesday 6 November. The Bill will make changes to the disclosure and PVG schemes and the church's evidence focused on the implications of these changes for volunteers.

Christian Aid Advent Hymn
On Sunday 1 December, Christian Aid Scotland are inviting churches across the country to lift their voices in song and raise life-changing funds - to help mothers across the world break free from poverty.

On 'Christmas Aid Sunday',  congregations are asked to sing the hymn, 'When out of Poverty is Born', donate their offering to the Christian Aid Christmas Appeal, and post their efforts on social media with the hashtag #ChristianAidCarol. 16 Days of Activism

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (25 November-10 December) is an international campaign coordinated by the Center for Women’s Global Leadership and used by activists around the world as an organising strategy to call for the elimination of all forms of gender-based violence. It is run by more than 6,000 organisations in 187 countries, including churches and faith groups.
